I am familiar with the ' auto calibration' routine on this treadmill. I was wondeering if anyone knows the significance of the various 'tones' emitted during the calibration or, in general, anytime the treadmill is in use. I have figured one part: when the treadmill is going thru its elevation calibration, the tone can be heard to increase in pitch as the treadmill increases in elevation and, conversely, decrease in pitch as the elevation decreases. I am curious to know if there is a direct correlation between the heard sounds and the condition of the elevation pot.I have one client, in particular, who needs to have their treadmill 'auto-cal'd' every two or three months because the elevation fails to return to zero ( IE: it 'thinks' 3% grade is zero). After auto cal, everything works fine for another 2~3 months. Since the unit is end of life, there is no one at G.E. who is permitted to answer these questions.

DESCRIPTION
Advanced performance in exercise testingAdvances incorporated into the Series 2000 treadmill place it at the forefront of patient safety, dependability and overall performance – the culmination of continual technological development and attention to detail specially designed to meet the high quality standards you expect from GE.
The Series 2000’s extra-long, 60-inch treadmill surface provides an extra margin of safety for patients. Its zero start feature slowly builds up speed for safe and smooth operation. And it can be slowed to a gradual stop or stopped immediately with
the standard emergency stop button. Full front and side handrails are also standard on the Series 2000 treadmill.
With fewer moving parts than other treadmills, the Series 2000 treadmill delivers extremely smooth, quiet operation that facilitates accurate blood pressure measurements even at high workloads. Thanks to digital microprocessor control, its settings never need to be calibrated. And a 450-pound weight capacity and speed range of 0-13.5 miles per hour set the Series 2000 apart from other treadmills.
